Learning Outcomes
Students will understand chemical concepts and be able to solve chemical problems in core areas of chemistry: analytical, biochemistry, inorganic, organic and physical.
Students will be proficient in laboratory skills, able to produce and interpret results of experiments.
Students will maintain accurate chemical records and be proficient in presenting experimental results in writing.
Students will achieve research experience through direct interaction with faculty.
Students will achieve level of competence in chemistry to succeed in graduate school or industry.

This curriculum guide is a recommended plan of study. Students with questions about degree requirements should contact an academic advisor.
Student must obtain a grade of C- or better in all required chemistry courses. If a grade of less than C- is obtained in a required chemistry course, the student must successfully repeat the course within a year.
3650:291 and 292 Elementary Classical Physics I and II (Lec/Lab) can be substituted for 3650:261 and 262 Physics for Life Sciences I and II (Lec/Lab).
3150:313 and 314 Physical Chemistry Lecture I and II can be substituted for 3150:305 Phys Chemistry for Bio Science.
This program is not certified by The American Chemical Society. The B.S. degree in Chemistry is certified.
7700:101, 102, 201, 202 and 222 may be substituted for Modern Language: 35xx courses.
128 credits are required to graduate; 47 Buchtel College of Arts & Sciences upper level credits required to graduate.
