Degree Distribution Requirements

English distribution requirement (15 credits total): One course in world or multicultural literature outside the canon of British and American writer; one course in British literature after 1800; one course in American literature after 1860; one literature course in poetry; one literature course in fiction.
A minimum of four 400-level courses (including 3300:492 Senior Seminar).
3450:250 Statistics for Everyday Life maybe substituted for 3450:150 Excursions in Mathematics.
3300:316 Shakespeare Mature Plays maybe substituted for 3300:315 Shakespeare Early Plays.
3300:400 Anglo-Saxon or 3300:470 History of the English Language maybe substituted for 3300:371 Introduction to Linguistics.
7700:101, 102, 201, 202 and 222 may be substituted for Modern Languages: Any 35xx courses.
The following credit hour requirements apply to this degree: 128 minimum total credits; 32 credits in residence; the final 32 credits must be taken from The University of Akron.
