Approved Foreign Culture Courses may be substituted for Beginning and Intermediate Foreign Language courses upon adviser approval.
This degree meets the needs of students who have an interdisciplinary academic goal. It expands opportunities for non-traditional students to complete their degrees at the University of Akron by allowing them to combine courses from various colleges to design a program of study. Students must select a college of residence and devise a proposed program of study with an adviser in the college selected. The proposal must be approved by the University Interdisciplinary Studies Committee.
128 credits are required to graduate; 47 Buchtel College of Arts & Sciences upper level credits required to graduate; 12 upper level credits are required from 2 of the 3 Cognate areas to graduate.
7700:101,102,201,202, & 222 may be substituted for Modern Language (35xx) courses.
The following credit hour requirements apply to this degree: 128 minimum total credits; 32 credits in residence; the final 32 credits must be taken from The University of Akron.
