Degree Distribution Requirements

Major courses toward the 30 credits in Political Science/ Criminal Justice major.
Minor courses taken toward Summit College Criminal Justice Technology Law Enforcement Minor. A minor in Criminal Justice Technology is required in Track 2 and a contract must be signed with Summit College. Additional minors allowable to meet this sub-requirement.
3470:250 Statistics for Everyday Life or 3470:260 Basic Statistics recommended.
3700:395 2 credits of Internship in Government and Politics are required of the major. Students wishing to do an internship should consult with the Bliss Institute of Applied Politics while planning their experience. A student may earn 2-9 credits for the internship, though only 4 credits will count toward the completion of the major.

The following credit hour requirements apply to this degree: 128 minimum total credits; 32 credits in residence; the final 32 credits must be taken from The University of Akron.
