Degree Distribution Requirements
This curriculum guide is a recommended plan of study. Students with questions about degree requirements should contact an academic advisor.
3400:221 Humanities in the World Since 1300 may be substituted for 3400:210 Humanities in the Western Tradition.
To be admitted to the Teacher Education Program a minimum 2.5 GPA is required for overall and pre-admission coursework.
3850:100 Introduction to Sociology and 3750:100 Introduction to Psychology are required and fulfill the General Education Social Science requirement.
Anatomy & Physiology I (200/201) will complete half of the General Education requirement for Natural Sciences, including the lab sub-requirement. Please refer to the General Education guide for options for completion of the rest of the Natural Science requirement.
One of several courses may be taken to fulfill the math requirement. Please check with your adviser before registering for math.
Coursework in the teaching field requires a 2.5 GPA prior to student teaching.
Successful completion of First Aid and CPR meets the General Education PE requirement as does Personal Health.
A grade of C or better is required in all pre-admission coursework for those whose college start date is fall 2001 and thereafter.
The following credit hour requirements apply to this degree: 128 minimum total credits; 32 credits in residence; the final 32 credits must be taken from The University of Akron.
