Courses toward the 30 credits in Political Science Criminal Justice major: 3700:100 Government and Politics in the U.S. also counts as a General Education Social Science; 3470:250 Statistics for Everyday Life or 3470:260 Basic Statistics recommended
3700:395 Internship in Government and Politics is required of the major. It may be taken twice for a total of 9 hours; however, only 4 credits will count toward the completion of the major in Political Science. The internship consists of supervised individual placement with political office holders, party groups, governmental agencies, law firms and other organizations providing professional level work. Students wishing to do an internship should consult with the Bliss Institute of Applied Politics while planning their experience.
PS/CH Track 3 students must complete 12 credits of approved Criminal Justice coursework outside of the department of Political Science with a minimum of 3.0 GPA.
*NOTE: Students must select from specific sets of courses. See an adviser.
The following credit hour requirements apply to this degree: 128 minimum total credits; 32 credits in residence; the final 32 credits must be taken from The University of Akron.
