6600:300 Marketing Principles may be substituted for 2520:101 Essentials of Marketing Technology. Course selection depends on which minor option is chosen; either Consumer Marketing (6600) OR Marketing & Sales Technology (2520).
6600:450 Strategic Retail Management may be substituted for 2520:202 Retailing Fundamentals.
6600:275 Professional Selling may be substituted for 2520:212 Principles of Sales.
3400:221 Humanities in the World Since 1300 may be substituted for 3400:210 Humanities in the Western Tradition I.
6600:432 Integrated Marketing Communications may be substituted for 2520:203 Principles of Advertising.
7400:494 Intern: Family & Consumer Sci can be taken for 1-6 credit hours. Students should take 3 credit hours Summer of Year 3.
A student majoring in Fashion Merchandising will have 1 of 3 options. Option I is to complete 4 semesters of the same foreign language. Option II is to complete 2 semesters of the same foreign language and 2 alternative course options approved by a departmental adviser. Option III is to complete 14 credit hours of selected alternative coursework approved by departmental adviser.
The following credit hour requirements apply to this degree: 130 minimum total credits; 32 credits in residence; the final 32 credits must be taken from The University of Akron.
