The University of Akron has a number of programs in place to
help students achieve their educational goals:

— Free assistance with note-taking, studying and reading comprehension.

— Free assistance with writing projects.

Learning
Communities — A Learning Community is a group of about 25 students who
take two to four classes together. By participating, students get to know their
classmates more quickly and feel at ease faster than if they were facing a new
group of people in each classroom.
- Academic Advisement Center — The professionals in the
center will help you make effective academic decisions that are aligned with
your educational, career and life goals.

Student Success Seminar
— This credit course will help you (1) better understand the higher education environment
and (2) make the adjustment to university life.

FYE Mentor Program
— This program will gives first-year students an opportunities to build relationships
on campus and ease the transition to college, all with the goal of helping
students achieve their academic goals.
