Sociology/Criminology and Law Enforcement Fundamentals
Sociology is the study of social life, social change, and the social causes and consequences of human behavior. Individuals who pursue our focused B.A. in Sociology/Criminology and Law Enforcement degree will have the education and skills necessary to take on leadership roles within the criminal justice system.
Professional Preparation
Studying sociology prepares students for:
- careers requiring research skills and training;
- work in community and social services;
- jobs in the criminal justice field; and
- graduate training in sociology.
Our Faculty
- are award-winning teachers;
- conduct research on topics such as crime and media, altruism, work and family, violence and victims, and immigration; and
- serve as advisers to student groups on campus, including Sociology Club, L.I.P. Service and Sociologists for Women in Society (SWS).
