The Akron Advantage Award Programs for non-Ohio Residents
Akron Advantage Blue Award and Akron Advantage Gold Award The University of Akron is offering qualified non-Ohio residents a significant adjustment in the out-of-state tuition rate.
Students that plan to enroll at UA as first-time new freshmen in the 2006 fall semester and beyond are eligible.

Akron Advantage Blue Award
- This program offers a sixty percent reduction of the out-of-state tuition rate (per academic year). Students from one of the 49 states outside of Ohio and all U.S. territories must meet one of the following eligibility criteria.
- 3.00 high school GPA (based on 6th semester transcript)
- 1000 SAT combined score (critical reading and math scores)
- 21 ACT
- Direct admission to a degree-granting college
- Dependent of a UA alumnus/alumna
Akron Advantage Gold Award
- This program offers a full reduction of the out-of-state tuition rate (per academic year). Students from one of the 49 states outside of Ohio and all U.S. territories must meet two of the following eligibility criteria.
- 3.5 high school GPA (based on 6th semester transcript)
- Top 10% of high school class
- ACT composite test score of 27 or SAT combined test score of 1200 (critical reading and math scores)
