Adult learners require far more flexibility than traditional-age students. At The University of Akron, we've made certain they get it.
We offer everything from continuing education units and certificates to Ph.D.s - the highest degrees possible. Through our branch campuses, Web-learning program, accelerated weekend degree program and evening/weekend classes, even those adults with rigorous jobs and demanding family obligations can manage a higher education.
Our faculty is one of the finest in the country and includes leading researchers and highly honored academic specialists. We have approximately 735 full-time faculty members, about three-quarters of whom have either a Ph.D. or the highest degree awarded in their fields.
Most important, our faculty members cultivate a remarkable accessibility to their students. They work closely with them to nurture their interest and challenge their thinking. Many faculty members say they particularly enjoy working with adult students who show extraordinary enthusiasm and a perspective broadened by experience.
