New Student Orientation

The first step in becoming a student at The University of Akron is to submit the Intent to Enroll Form and $75 confirmation fee. Both can be completed online at Intent to Enroll. Early action is needed to confirm your seat for the upcoming term.

When we receive the Intent to Enroll Form and confirmation fee, we'll send you an Enrollment Packet. This packet will include New Student Orientation dates and details, to get you registered for classes and ready for college life. A housing contract also will be included.

All new freshmen and transfer students are required to attend an orientation program. These programs begin in March and continue through July.
Orientation will prepare you for enrollment at the University by providing access to ZipLine, academic advising, class registration, student support services and more.

During orientation, students will meet with their advisers (each student is assigned one), register for classes, discuss majors, course requirements and career plans.

Parents are encouraged to attend a special session for them during orientation. For specific information regarding any orientation issue, please visit Orientation.
