How To

New Student Orientation

All new freshmen are required to attend an orientation program. These programs begin in March and continue through July.

The first step in becoming a student at The University of Akron is to submit the Intent to Enroll Form and $75 confirmation fee. Both can be completed online at Intent to Enroll. Please share with your students that early action is needed to confirm their seat for the upcoming term.

When we receive the Intent to Enroll Form and confirmation fee, we'll send the student an Enrollment Packet. This packet will include New Student Orientation dates and details, to get them registered for classes and ready for college life. A housing contract also will be included.

At orientation, students will,
* Receive a Zip Card (Student ID)
* Complete placement tests (if applicable)
* Meet an academic adviser
* Register for fall semester classes
* Get connected to innovative computer technology
* Receive information about campus life
* Explore our campus
