Student Employment

If students need assistance in finding a job, the Student Employment area with the Office of Student Financial Aid is ready to assist them.

There are three components to student employment at The University of Akron:

The Regular Student Employment Program

All undergraduate students registered as full time students may participate in this program. Students are employed on-campus in part-time jobs and work around their class schedule. Jobs are posted on the web and/or on departmental bulletin boards. Click here to view current listings

The Job Location and Development Program (JLD)

This is a federally funded program which provides part time employment opportunities for students off-campus. All interested students may participate in this program. Click here to view current listings.

Federal Work Study Program

The Federal Work Study Program is a federally funded campus based aid program designed to provide part-time jobs for eligible students with financial need. Jobs are located both on and off-campus. Students work around their class schedule.

To participate, students must be enrolled at least half-time (6 credit hours) each semester they are employed. Students may not exceed their award amount and work more than 30 hours per week.

Jobs are posted on the web and on departmental bulletin boards. Click here to view current listings.
