


You are considered an undergraduate student if you will have completed high school or secondary school before enrolling at Akron.
The University of Akron welcomes international students interested in graduate student. We seek to make your educational experience pleasant and meaningful. Each year, about 850 international students from 85 countries pursue studies and research at The University of Akron.
International students may apply to begin their graduate studies for the fall, spring, or summer sessions. Students should submit their applications at least six months in advance of the date they wish to begin studying. Graduate students applying for assistantships should submit applications nine months before the term begins for best consideration.
To apply, access the online graduate application through the Graduate School Web site. A nonrefundable application fee of $40 must also be submitted. The fee for international reapplications is $25. Application fees will not be waived or deferred. Applications that do not accompany the application fee will not be processed. Application materials should be submitted directly to:

The Graduate School processes applications for international students as they are received. We recommend that students apply at least six (6) months in advance of the intended date of enrollment. The Graduate School will process applications received after the six month deadline, however, cannot guarantee admission consideration for the intended date of enrollment.
Note: Each academic department has internal deadlines which need to be followed. Thus, we also recommend that students contact the academic department regarding such deadlines.

In part, you are considered a international law student if meet the entrance requirements of the School of Law and have recorded a score above a certain level on the TOEFL and TSE exams.
