At UA, we believe that any student who wishes to live in an environment free of drugs, alcohol and tobacco should be able to do so. That's why we've established our smoke-free and SAFE living areas. (SAFE stands for Substance and Alcohol Free Environments.)
Students who choose a smoke-free living area agree not to burn anything that will put smoke into the private or public areas of their environments. SAFE living area residents agree to keep the private and public areas of their living environment free of all tobacco products, alcohol and illegal drugs at all times. Residents are responsible for the behavior of their guests. Any violation of this agreement could result in a change of residence hall assignment or cancellation of the residence hall contract. If students are found with illegal substances, they may be arrested and face criminal charges as well as University sanctions.
