To receive financial aid as a transfer student at UA, please send any financial aid transcripts from your previous schools to the Office of Student Financial Aid; The University of Akron; Akron, OH 44325-6211. If you did not receive aid at those schools, please complete the FAFSA.
The University also awards scholarships to transfer students. You can apply for University-wide scholarships by completing the Scholarship Application and submitting it to the Office of Student Financial Aid by April 1. Please visit

The scholarships listed below are among those available to members of the transfer student community. (Eligible students may receive one transfer scholarship.)
The University of Akron - Transfer Student Scholarship - $1,500 - To qualify, you must have completed 24 semester hours and have a 3.50 cumulative GPA.
The University of Akron - Transfer Student Scholarship - $1,000 - To qualify, you must have completed 24 semester hours and have a 3.25 cumulative GPA.
The Oelschlager Awards at The University of Akron, Oelschlager Oak Leaf Transfer Scholarship - $2,500 - To qualify, you must have completed a minimum of 20 hours with a 3.00 cumulative GPA; must demonstrate leadership and service; and show the potential for future leadership and scholastic achievement.
Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship - $1,000 - To qualify, you must be an active member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honary Society.
