Undergraduate Admissions Procedures

Freshmen students are currently enrolled in high school and planning to graduate this school year (including students in postsecondary enrollment options programs) or students who have graduated from high school or received a High School Equivalence Diploma (GED) and have not attended any other college or university.

Home Schooled Student – In addition to the five steps listed above, please submit:

  • A transcript of studies and supporting documents such as book lists and other related documentation
  • A signed copy of the superintendent’s exemption letter

PSEOP Application Deadline Dates:

  • Oct. 15 for spring semester enrollment
  • May 15 for fall semester enrollment

Students enrolled at another institution that plan to attend The University of Akron and take coursework under guest status, then return to their home institution.

Please note: To be eligible for guest student status at UA, you must be in good standing at your home institution. It is recommended that you receive written permission from your home institution prior to registering at UA.

 

Transfer students have attended or are attending a college or university after graduating from high school and would like to transfer to The University of Akron.

Submit official transcripts from all regionally accredited institutions of higher learning that you've attended. Your transcripts are required to be signed or certified by the Registrar.

If you have earned fewer than 12 semester hours or 15 quarter hours, please submit your high school transcripts. If you're under age 21, please submit ACT or SAT scores along with your high school transcripts.

Students who have received a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university other than The University of Akron and plan to take undergraduate coursework.
Students who are interested in taking graduate coursework may contact Graduate School.
