Application Procedures for New Freshmen

Freshmen students are currently enrolled in high school and planning to graduate this school year (including students in postsecondary enrollment options programs) or students who have graduated from high school or received a High School Equivalence Diploma (GED) and have not attended any other college or university.

	Step 1 Submit the Admission Application
	Step 2 Submit a non-refundable $40 application fee
	Step 3 Submit your high school transcripts (Give the transcript request form to your school counselor to request your transcripts)
	Step 4 Submit your ACT or SAT scores ACT Writing Test is recommended UA’s ACT code – 3338 UA’s SAT code – 1829
	Step 5 Log on to MyAkron to check the status of your application

Honors College

Students interested in the Honors College should apply both to The University of Akron and the Honors College.

Home Schooled Student

In addition to the five steps listed above, please submit:

• A transcript of studies and supporting documents such as book lists and other related documentation
• A signed copy of the superintendent’s exemption letter
