Guides for degree granting baccalaureate guides are prepared by the Academic Advisement Center and approved by the various college departments. Baccalaureate guides are available for the following colleges: Buchtel College of Arts and Sciences, Engineering, Education, Business Administration, Fine and Applied Arts, and Nursing. These guides reflect the first two years for each academic major.

While every effort is made to provide accurate and up-to-date information, the Academic Advisement Center and The University of Akron reserve the right to change, without notice, the information on the following curriculum guides. These changes could include, but not be limited to course, course numbers, General Education Requirements, major requirements, entrance criteria or career information. Please check directly with the academic department in question or your academic adviser for any questions or clarifications.

By the end of your first 32 hours attempted, you must...

complete with a grade of "C" or better any developmental courses they may be required. Both credit hours and developmental hours are included in these first 32 hours.

By the end of your first 48 credit hours attempted, you must...

1) have completed your General Education English, Math and Communication requirements and

2) declare a major and transfer to (been accepted by) a degree granting college (Summit, Arts & Science, Engineering, Education, Business, Fine & Applied Arts, Nursing).
