License Plates

Time to renew your license plate tags?

Happy Birthday!  Every year we all get that nice letter in the mail reminding us to renew our Ohio license plate tags. Consider giving your license plates a makeover by selecting a UA license plate and support our fellow Zips and the Legacy Scholarship!

Interested in participating?

  1. Visit the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles' website
  2. Select "Special Plates"
  3. Select your vehicle type and continue
  4. On the next screen select "University of Akron Seal" or University of Akron Zips" (close to the bottom)
  5. When you decide between the two plates, continue and follow the prompts.

The cost of just $35 above the regular fee, of which $25 goes to the Alumni Association Legacy Scholarship.

How you've helped already

Since the Legacy Scholarship was established in 2001, 50 students have received a $1,000 scholarship for one academic year.
