How to Apply

This information is for new freshman applicants. Transfer students, please click on the "Transfer Students" section under the ADMISSIONS drop down menu.

 Applications are submitted to the University of Akron's Admissions office. Everything is available online. Please do not sumbit a portfolio. All timelines are established by the University of Akron's Admissions office: Click Here

After academically qualifying for admission to the College of Fine and Applied Arts, students are admitted to the Myers School of Art Foundation program. Upon completion of the required foundation courses, a foundation portfolio review will take place. Each student must pass the review for the area in which they wish to major. Once they have done so, they will then be able to take specific courses pertaining to their major.

Students interested in the Myers School of Art are encouraged to attend our High School portfolio day. Please refer to our calendar under the NEWS AND EVENTS section for the date of our next portfolio day. At this event talent scholarships are awarded to the best portfolios, and all students receive feedback from our faculty on their work and how to improve it.
