President Luis Proenza will present service awards on May 3 at the University’s annual Founders Day celebration. The event begins in the Martin University Center Ballroom at noon with a luncheon for 10, 20 and 30-year service award recipients, followed by the presentation of awards. The luncheon cost for guests is $12. For reservations, contact Sarah Slusser at ext. 6134 or sarah30@uakron.edu by April 26.
UA has nearly 350 service award recipients this year. Those with five, 15, 25 and 35 years of service will receive certificates in campus mail. Ten-year honorees will receive University paperweights, 20-year honorees will be given University pen and pencil sets, and 30-year honorees will have their choice of a University Chair, or a mirror or desk box, both featuring a picture of Buchtel Hall. These will be presented at the awards ceremony.
The University has two 35-year service award recipients this year. They are James Brown, mail services; and Richard Gross, mechanical engineering.
