Margery Koosed, law, published “United States and the Sixth Circuit Caselaw Update” for “Recent Cases That Can Help You Win Capital Cases,” distributed at the Death Penalty Seminar in Cleveland on April 10. She also was awarded the Outstanding Faculty Publication Award from the Law Alumni Association during the spring semester and provided an interview to the Akron Beacon Journal regarding the pro bono capital case she was handling, explaining the legal process.

Molly O’Brien, law, chaired and moderated panels titled “Personal Reflections on Accepting, Rejecting and Surviving War” and “The War in Iraq and International Law” at on April 11 “War and Our World: A Daylong Forum” at The Ohio State Univer-sity campus in Mansfield. On April 24, O’Brien presented a paper titled “The Constitutionally Constituted Common School” at the symposium, “The Ohio Constitution, Then and Now,” hosted at Cleveland State University. The paper will be pub-lished in a symposium edition of the Cleveland State Journal.

Jack Sahl, law, gave a presentation titled “Professionalism” in April at the Cleveland Bar Association Professional Ethics Committee’s annual continuing legal education program. He also served as moderator for the program “Lawyer Advertising and Solicitation,” sponsored by the American Bar Association Center on Professional Responsibility at the 29th National Conference on Professional Responsibility, which was held in Chicago on May 30. Sahl has published “The Cost of Humanitarian Assistance: Ethical Rules and the First Amendment” in the June issue of St. Mary’s University Law Journal.
