There’s a new spot to gather on Buchtel Common, thanks to the Women’s Committee. The garden, with its 12 benches and newly installed landscaping, is near the Goodyear Polymer Center. The Women’s Committee was formed in 1948 to create a bond between the citizens of Akron and the University. The garden, which was dedicated in September, is only one of the group’s campus projects. The Women’s Committee also has provided scholarship support since 1976.
