More than 80 faculty members, contract professionals and staff who have joined the University since Oct. 1, 2002 will be welcomed at The University of Akron’s convocation today, Sept. 23. (A complete listing appears below.) The annual event will be presented by President Luis M. Proenza and Senior Vice President and Provost Elizabeth J. Stroble, beginning at 3 p.m. in the Student Union Theatre. Convocation is open to all members of the campus community.
Also being recognized at the event will be faculty that have been honored with the title of Distinguished Professor, awarded tenure, or that have gained the rank of associate professor or professor, as well as University-wide award recipients. In addition, The University of Akron African Drumming Ensemble will perform.
The one-hour program will be followed by a reception in the Student Union, Ballroom A. Refreshments will be served.
Distinguished Professors
