The ASAT Committee was established March of 2002 to encourage involvement of the student body in developing Auxiliary Business Operations. The President of ASG, Michael Dalton, and the director of Auxiliary Business Operations, Dean Goumas, were the cochairmen at that time.
ASG, Associated Student Government, has recently inducted the ASAT Committee as a standing committee of ASG. The ASAT Committee is a small group of students and staff that meet twice a month to discuss concerns or ideas about the Auxiliary Department.
The Auxiliary Department includes Dining Services, Zip Card office, Retail Convenience Stores, Vending, Parking, Copy Centers, Printing Services and Mail Services.
ASAT Committee serves in an advisory capacity in accepting or rejecting off campus merchant applications for accepting the Zip Card
ASAT assisted in creating the Zip Card
brochure and distribution
ASAT assisted in the distribution of the Route 8 construction detour flyer that was mailed out with student invoices
ASAT suggested improvements of facilities for Phase I and II of the Student Union
ASAT Committee provided assistance in
expanding student meal plan offerings
The Auxiliary Services Advisory Team has been providing a place for involved students to express their concerns and opinions about Dining Services, Zip Card office, Retail Convenience Stores, Vending, Parking, Copy Centers, Printing Services and Mail Services for the past several years.
The ASAT Committee is a standing subcommittee of the Associated Student Government and is responsible for pursuing the interest of the student body regarding both the education and services that the university provides
