The University of Akron Dining Plans A variety of Dining Plans are offered for our resident students as well as commuter students, faculty and staff. All plans (Residential and Commuter) may be purchased by non- resident students, faculty and staff at any of our Zip Card Offices.

Residential Plans Traditional Dining Plan Plus These plans are used exclusively at Rob’s Café and Trackside Grille. Rob’s Café offers all you care to eat buffet style service Monday through Friday serving breakfast, lunch and dinner and Saturday and Sunday serving brunch and dinner. Trackside Grille serves a buffet of soup & salad or other meal equivalent options off our regular menu. The total number of meals served per week is 19, 15, or 10. If choosing the 19T Plus or 15T Plus, you will receive $100.00 in dining dollars per semester to use at any location on or off campus that accept the dining dollars. You may also use these plans at our Zee’s Stores. Up to a $5.00 food purchase = 1 meal swipe. You may choose from the following dining plans: You may choose from the following dining plans:
• 19T Plus - $1599.00 19 meals at Rob’s Café or meal equivalents at Trackside Grille. $100.00 on dining dollars per semester
• 15T Plus - $1549.00 15 meals at Rob’s Café or meal equivalents at Trackside Grille. $100.00 on dining dollars per semester
• 10T - $1374.00 10 meals at Rob’s Café or meal equivalents at Trackside Grille. No additional funds.
The Traditional Dining Plans reset on your Zip Card each week to the 19, 15 or 10 plan that you have chosen. There are no credits refunds for missed meals during the week.
Unlimited Plus Meal Plan - $1750.00 With this meal plan, you may enter Rob’s Café as many times as you wish during the hours of operation with the unlimited access pass.
This plan offers the flexibility and an exceptional value for students that have hectic schedules, need a snack between classes, or want to maintain a healthy lifestyle by eating the recommended several small meals per day. We will also add $100.00 to your Dining Dollars per semester to be used to purchase food items at the many operations located both on and off campus that accept the Dining Dollars. The Unlimited Meal Plan offers convenience, freedom and satisfaction.
Gold Plan - $1850.00 This meal plan provides you with the most flexibility. You will receive $87.50 per week on your Dining Dollars to be used at the many operations located both on and off campus that accept the Dining Dollars for food purchases. You will also receive a 25% discount off the door rates at Rob’s Café and Track Side Grille. Any unused amount - maximum of $400 - will roll over to your spring semester.
All unused Dining Dollars will expire at the end of each Academic year.
Commuter Plans These plans are tailored to faculty, staff, and non-resident students. However, you may also choose to purchase one of our popular plans listed above. The plans listed below are available exclusively at Rob’s Café and can be used at any time throughout the semester. Plans may be purchased at any of our Zip Card Office locations.
Any 3 Meals- $299.00
Choose 3 meals a week at Rob’s Café.
Meals will reset each week on your Zip Card.
Any 5 Meals- $399.00
Choose 5 meals a week at Rob’s Café.
Meals will reset each week on your Zip Card.
Any 50 Meals- $399.00
This plan offers any 50 meals per semester at Rob’s Café.
300 Townhouse- $300.00
Receive $300 on your dining dollars per semester
Partners in Nutrition Dining Services is offering a new FREE service to student, faculty and staff dining plan participants.
Services available include:
Nutrition Assessment
An assessment/initial consultation to include food and nutrition assessment, weight and health history, height, weight and body composition measurements. A personalized nutrition plan based on your needs and goals will be developed.
30 Minute Follow up Consultation
(1 each academic year)
This session will provide on-going support to meet your nutrition, eating and health goals.
Nutrition Education
Small group nutrition education sessions will be offered each semester to support self-management of your person health and nutrition goals:
Topics include
*My Pyramid – how to analyze and manage your diet
*Avoid the freshman 5, 10, 15 and 20
*How to choose healthy foods on campus
*Sports Nutrition

Dining Plan Facts Dining Plan RequirementStudents living in University housing with the exception of Townhouses or Exchange Street Apartments with a kitchen. Pricing All dining plans are priced per semester. Each semester is 16 weeks. When to start using your Dining PlanAll dining plans go into effect on Sunday (brunch) prior to the 1st of the semester and end with lunch on the Friday of exam week. Planning on missing a mealTalk with one of our Managers at Rob’s for a brown bag meal or to-go box.BreaksDining Plans are not available during breaks. - Ex. Thanksgiving, Winter / Spring / Summer BreaksChanging Your Dining Plan If you find that the dining plan you selected is not working for your schedule or eating habits you may go to any of our Zip Card Offices at any time during the first 4 weeks of the semester and have it changed. Any changes after the first 4 weeks can ONLY be upgrades. Dining plan changes are updated on a weekly basis. Purchasing a Dining PlanYou may purchase a dining plan at any time during the semester by visiting our Zip Card Offices to fill out an Option Dining Plan Contract.Canceling Your Dining Plan If you are in the Residence Halls, you may NOT cancel your dining plan. The only way your dining plan may be canceled is if you move out of housing.
Moving out of housing will NOT automatically cancel your dining plan.
To cancel your dining plan, please visit our Zip Card office to complete a form.
