Teacher and Student Awards in Economics

The H.K. Barker Center for Economic Education is committed to recognizing excellent teachers and students in Northeast Ohio for their performance and commitment to the study of economics and/or financial literacy. Each year, the center celebrates the achievements of one outstanding teacher (Grades Pk-12) and one outstanding student (Grades Pk-12) in the study and promotion of economics and/or financial literacy.

Nomination forms can be downloaded below and are due in early December.  Award recipients and their guests are invited to The University of Akron’s campus for a special awards ceremony in the spring, where they will receive a plaque commemorating their achievement along with a cash prize (Teacher of the Year, $400; Student of the year $250).
