                                                         Income Tax

Income tax is an annual tax levied by the Federal government, most states, and some local governments on an individual's or corporation's net profit. The first income tax law was enacted in 1862 in order to support the Civil War effort. The income tax is paid by all Americans that have jobs. It is the Government's main source of getting money.
