                                            Workshop Credit Options

To earn your graduate credit you have 2 options:

Option 1:
1 Credit hour - Develop 4 lesson plans
2 Credit Hours - Develop 7 lesson plans
3 Credit Hours – Develop 9 lesson plans

LESSON PLANS

1. Begin with an overview of who you are and what you teach
2. Next explain what topics and lessons you are planning to teach and HOW they fit into what you are currently doing.
3. These two sections should be at least 1-2 pages long

For example:
I teach Family and Consumer Sciences for grades 6-8. I will have the 8th grade class for a total of18 weeks this year. When I had these students in 6th grade we covered careers and …When I had these students in 7th grade we covered…This year I am planning to spend 9 weeks teaching personal finance. I feel this is important because…

The Family and Consumer Standards for middle school include many of the topics presented by FEFE however, I will also be including Social Studies, Science, Math, Reading and the Arts standards in my lessons. I plan to begin the year with these students by examining their Values, Needs and Wants. I feel this is important because that is what shapes and drives their financial decisions. It is important for them to know what they value so they can create habits, an educational plan and a spending plan that allows them to achieve their goals.

The lessons that I will be submitting are focusing on creating a spending plan. Once they have that information we will take an in depth look at Electronic Banking and Financial Institutions.

Option #2:
1 Credit Hour- Develop 3 new Active Learning Tools
2 Credit Hours – Develop 6 new Active Learning Tools
3 Credit Hours – Develop 9 new Active Learning Tools

ACTIVE LEARNING TOOLS:

1. Include the standard(s) this activity applies to
2. Submit each activity in a lesson plan format that includes:

   a. Introduction

   b. Facilitation

   c. Materials needed
3. Active Learning Tools motivate students to fully engage in concepts and maximize knowledge retention with an activity based approach for a wide variety of units and lesson plans.
 The Active Learning Tools within the FEFE curriculum have been organized into the following categories:

   a. Introductory Activities

   b. Reinforcement Activities

   c. Board Games

   d. Books

   e. Movies

Grades 1-5 Lit Workshop

1 Credit hour –
Choose 1 children’s book and develop a lesson plan for it.
You must also develop:

•  Active Learning Tool that introduces the book and the concept
•  Active Learning Tool that reinforces the book and the concept

2 Credit Hours –
Choose 2 children’s books and develop a lesson plan for each of them.
You must also develop for each book:

• Active Learning Tool that introduces the book and the concept
• Active Learning Tool that reinforces the book and the concept

3 Credit Hours –
Choose 3 children’s books and develop a lesson plan for each of them.
You must also develop for each book:

• Active Learning Tool that introduces the book and the concept
• Active Learning Tool that reinforces the book and the concept
  

Grades 6-12 Lit Workshop

1 Credit hour –
Choose 1 Book and Develop a lesson plan for it.
You must also develop:

• Active Learning Tool that introduces the book and the concept
• Active Learning Tool that reinforces the book and the concept

2 Credit Hours –
Choose 2 Books and Develop a lesson plan for each of them.
You must also develop for each book:

• Active Learning Tool that introduces the book and the concept

3 Credit Hours –
Choose 3 Books and Develop a lesson plan for each of them.
You must also develop for each book:
