Why Do a Bliss Internship?
Internships offered through the Ray C. Bliss Institute of Applied Politics provide students with the opportunity to experience practical politics firsthand by working for local, state, and national party organizations, candidates, interest groups, or public officials.

How Does the Program Work?
Semester-long internships are offered for academic credit in the Akron, Ohio area, as well as in Columbus, Ohio and Washington, D.C. Bliss Internship Advisors work with students and sponsoring agencies to create professional-level learning experiences tailored to students' specific interests and vocational aspirations. Our Internships provide students with the competitive edge required for entering the job market upon graduation.

Are Part-Time Internships Available?
Variable credit hours are available, depending upon the type of internship desired by the student. Students may choose a part-time internship taken in conjunction with other university coursework, or may select a full-time internship for twelve hours of academic credit.

Will I Get Paid as a Bliss Intern?
Some Bliss internships carry a stipend paid by the sponsoring organization, while others are supported by scholarships which cover living expenses in Columbus, Ohio and Washington, D.C.
