A warm welcome for the president-elect

It was a standing-room-only crowd in the Honors College Common Room that welcomed President-Elect Scott L. Scarborough to campus on Monday, May 12, just a few days after being appointed the 16th President of the University.

President Luis M. Proenza presented Dr. Scarborough with a Zippy tie and Zippy doll, and his wife Tammy with a Zippy scarf and bouquet of flowers.

Board Chair Richard W. Pogue introduced Dr. Scarborough to campus as the man who will lead UA through its next transformation.

Dr. Scarborough met with the media immediately following the welcoming event, but earlier in the day, provided a video interview exclusively for the UA campus.
