Anti-Discrimination Policy 1. The contractor agrees to assist and cooperate actively with the state administering agency, the state equal employment opportunity coordinator and the University in securing compliance both before and during the contract.
2. The contractor will not discriminate against any employee or qualified applicant for employment because of race, color, religion, sex, age, handicap, national origin, or ancestery. 3. The contractor will not in any manner, discriminate against, intimidate, or retaliate against any employee hired to work under the contract on account of race, color, religion, sex, age, handicap, national origin or ancestry.
4. The contractor will not enter into any contract with a contractor who is barred from all state and state assisted contracts. 5. Contractors and subcontractors providing goods and services to The University of Akron, will be notified verbally and in writing of the University's Equal Employment Opportunity Policy and Non-Discrimination programs. External contractors shall reciprocate by informing The University of Akron's Office of Contract Compliance in writing of their willingness to meet all applicable Equal Opportunity and Non-Discrimination Obligations.
6. All contractors who have contracts with The University for materials, equipment, supplies, or services, must have a written affirmative action program for the employment and effective utilization of economically disadvantage persons. 7. Contractors must ensure that their manpower for Minority work and training is substantially uniform throughout the length of the contract on all projects and for each of the trades.
8. The contractor agrees that if he/she fails or refuses to comply with these regulations, the contract with The University can be canceled, teminated or suspended in whole or in part.
