Steps to Internship/Co-op success

Post

• Research information on writing a resume.
• Draft a resume and cover letter.
• Make an appointment with the Career Center and take a draft of your resume with you.
• Upload your resume to UA’s Roolink, an electronic job search tool.

Monitor

• Monitor your Roolink account on a weekly basis and follow-up with employers who have posted positions.
• Investigate 2-5 employers or agencies each week (review their websites, talk to faculty and career center advisors).
• Review and adjust your social networking sites! Employers do check these sites during the job search process.

Respond

• Follow up with all employers who contact you. In addition, contact employers you are interested in.
• Attend UA sponsored career fairs, networking events and job search etiquette programs.
