Cindy Mako Robinson is currently serving as the Director for Undergraduate Programs at The University to Akron. The Center is a comprehensive advising office comprised of one professional staff, one support staff, four graduate assistants and a number of students and interns. As Director she is specifically responsible for the day-to-day operations of the office as well as recruiting new students to UA/CBA and retention and engagement of current CBA students.
Cindy is currently pursuing a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction and holds a M.S. in Higher Education Administration and a B.S. in Business Administration from The University of Akron. Prior to joining the University she worked in the banking industry for six years. Upon leaving the corporate world, she pursued a master’s degree in education full-time, and worked as a graduate assistant in the office of New Student Orientation.
Cindy has been in higher education for 14 years. In addition to her position in Undergraduate Programs she has also worked in career services, new student orientation and student activities for the College of Business Administration. She also teaches Student Success Seminar’s and numerous career planning courses at The University of Akron.
Cindy has been involved in several professional organizations, which include: Ohio Association of College Personnel, ACPA: College Student Educators International; Cooperative Education and Internship Association, Ohio Cooperative Education and Internship Association and the National Association of College and Employers.
Most recently Cindy serves as a member of the FYE Subcommittee on Academic Advising and the General Education Advisory Committee. In addition Cindy was a member of the 2008 Academic Leadership Class, UA Contract Professionals Advisory Committee, Student Affairs Assessment Committee and numerous search committees.
