Health care is one of the fastest growing sectors of the economy. This is especially true for Northeast Ohio which is home to some of the best health care facilities in the world. The MBA-HC program works with these institutions to ensure that our graduates meet their needs as well as the needs of the broader community of health care professionals.
The Health Care Management concentration teaches students how to take a systems approach to running a health care facility. There is much room for change in Health Care by implementing business tools to affect strategy, cost and quality. The concentration fills in the gaps that are not taught in medical school, focusing on management, operations and informatics. Using methods proven in other industries as a model for health care, connecting the program to local hospitals and providing strong faculty can help our students have a huge impact on many aspects of health care.
Health care management students can find positions in hospital operations, such as director or V.P. of clinical operations, health care informatics, business analytics, supply chain analytics, or business administration, as well as opportunities in consulting and entrepreneurial/innovative ventures.
