Special Non-Degree Admission may be granted to an individual who wishes to take graduate courses in the CBA but who is not working toward a graduate degree. If you have a baccalaureate degree, you may apply for non-degree admission.
Non-degree students are eligible to take up to a maximum of 9 credits of foundation level courses. This 9-credit limit also applies to students who wish to take foundation courses while they are preparing to take the GMAT and gain admission to a CBA graduate program. If you are interested in determining which foundation courses you will be required to take in the graduate program, you may contact a CBA adviser for a transcript assessment by calling (330)972-7043.
The admission process for non-degree students is handled by the Graduate School. The only requirements to be considered for admission are:
Use the online application to apply and choose non-degree rather than Master’s program in filling out the form.
Once you receive confirmation of non-degree admission, you should contact a CBA adviser to be placed on waiting lists for the foundation courses you wish to take. Students admitted to a program within the CBA are given preference for enrollment. If space is available, non-degree students will be added from the waiting list the week before the start of classes. Taking the GMAT and gaining admission to a CBA program will give you greater availability of classes.
Non-degree students are not eligible to take CBA waiver exams or to hold student loans. We permit students to enroll with non-degree admission for one semester. Additional semesters of non-degree enrollment require permission from an adviser. You may contact a CBA Graduate Programs adviser at (330)972-7043 or emailing gradcba@uakron.edu.
