Center for Research and Training in Information Security and Assurance (CReTISA)

The central mission of the Center is to conduct innovative research that promotes and contributes to information security and assurance, and enhances the user community's trust in the integrity of those resources. CReTISA pursues four primary objectives:

  • Act as a core research facility to identify best practices and models dealing with information security, risk and assurance
  • Create awareness of and provide training on cutting-edge information security mechanisms, assurance methods, and best practice processes
  • Contribute to the development of the workforce in Ohio by providing hands-on training and applied research opportunities for students and practitioners
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for transferring research knowledge to commercial applications in partnership with the private sector and government agencies

Faculty associated with CReTISA have published several articles on information security and have worked closely with professional organizations to promote information security and assurance. Each year, the Center organizes a day-long symposium on information security and assurance that focuses on state-of-the-art issues in the area. Held on the last Friday of February, the symposium brings together students, professionals, and college faculty from several states. Speakers at the symposium are highly experienced practicing professionals with national and international reputations in their field.
