Our Department

Mission: To provide students with a quality education that will prepare them for leadership positions within the finance profession.

Programs:  Our curriculum offers students the opportunity to pursue one of two majors: Corporate Financial Management and Financial Services.

Faculty:  Our dedicated faculty are focused on delivering the best educational experience to our students. Faculty specialties include corporate financial management, investments and investment management, international finance, and banking and financial institutions.  Two members of the finance faculty,  Dr. Aigbe Akhigbe and Dr. Raj Aggarwal were recently ranked in the top 10% for publication quality and quantity among all finance professors in the last 50 years worldwide.

Advisory Board: Senior executives offer support and expertise to the department, providing advice and guidance on academic programming assuring that our curricula remain fresh, relevant and rigorous.

Scholarships: Available for both incoming and current students.

Graduate Assistantships: Graduate students work up to 20 hours per week and receive a stipend and tuition benefits.

Student Organizations: The Financial Management Association helps finance majors and minors gain leadership and networking skills and find their finance career path.

Career Paths: A finance degree offers many and varied career opportunities ranging from serving the financial needs of individuals to managing financial operations for a firm.

Corbin Finance Lab:  This unique educational facility allows students and professors to display comparative information across six simultaneous screens.

Certifications and Professional Licensing:  Several areas of study offer the educational basis for taking qualifying examinations for the following professional designations:

• Ohio State Real Estate Sales License and Ohio State Real Estate Broker License
• Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation
• Certified Treasury Manager (CTM)
