2011 ushers in a new decade. The first year of the decade presents risks and opportunities for the country, state and region. What are these risks, how much pressure will they put on our recovery and what can be done? Hear these experts present the major issues that will be faced this year and their impact on 2012 and beyond.
The mission of the Department of Finance is to provide students with a quality education that will prepare them for leadership positions within the finance profession. The department’s curriculum offers students the opportunity to pursue one of two majors: Corporate Financial Management and Financial Services. Faculty specialties include corporate financial management, investmenst and investment management, international finance, and banking and financial institutions.
The mission of the Department of Economics is to provide excellent undergraduate and graduate education in economics and to develop a faculty dedicated to teaching, research and service. The Department serves the General Education program, the College of Business and other programs through its offering of coursework in principles of economics. In addition, it offers two undergraduate degrees, including a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science in Labor Economics, along with a Master’s of Arts degree. At all levels, the goal is to teach students theoretical and data analysis skills that can be used in the investigation of economic problems in a wide variety of settings.
