Graduation Form for CBA Graduate Certificate Students

Graduation Process for MBA, MSM, MSA, or MTax Students:

1. Complete the Advancement to Candidacy Form
   Advancement to Candidacy Form (Graduate School) The Advancement to Candidacy Form can be submitted at the CBA Graduate Advising Office, CBA 412, or online at stully@uakron.edu
   Additional forms required for the Advancement to Candidacy processing:
   • Program Codes
   • List of Transfer Courses – Transfer Form for JD and Business
2. Make an appointment, in your last semester of enrollment, for the 30-60 Minute Exit Interview with the Director of Graduate Programs. Call (330)972-8095 to schedule the appointment. The Advancement to Candidacy and Graduation Form will not be sent to the Graduate School until after the Exit Interview has been scheduled.
3. In preparation for the interview, please submit a two to three paragraph essay on the following: : Reflect upon the impact of your graduate studies in business both on your professional and/or personal development. Please submit your essay via email to Mrs. Sue Tully at stully@uakron.edu no later than one week prior to scheduled interview. Please include a UA and non-UA email address in the email for our future records. Business casual attire is recommended for the meeting.
4. All students are asked to complete the Leadership Survey at the exit interview. This will help us assess how the program has assisted you in developing leadership skills.
   

Advancement to Candidacy and Graduation Form Processing after Submission:

1. The Advancement to Candidacy is completed by your advisor and the Assistant Dean then forwarded to the Graduate School.
2. A copy of the Advancement Form, ATC Letter and Course Checklist will be scanned to students by our office.
3. An official copy will eventually be emailed to the student by the Graduate School.
4. The Degree Clearance Form (DCF) will be generated by the Graduation Office after the Graduate School processes the Advancement to Candidacy. A copy of the DCF will be sent to students by the Graduate School via email.

• Questions related to the Graduation ceremony and tickets should be directed to the Graduation Office at 330-972-8300.
• Questions related to Caps and Gowns should be directed to the Bookstore.

General Deadlines:

Advancement to Candidacy Deadlines:
February 15 for August graduation
May 15 for December graduation
September 15 for May graduation

(If these dates fall on a weekend, the forms are due on the following Monday.)
