Joseph C. Hete established this scholarship to provide opportunity and encouragement for students seeking to achieve life goals through higher education. Like his six siblings, Mr. Hete is a graduate of The University of Akron. He earned a B.S. in Accounting in 1976. Today, Mr. Hete is president and CEO of ABX Air, Inc., a cargo airline with a fleet of more than 100 aircraft. The purpose of the Joseph C. Hete & Family Endowed Scholarship is to provide scholarship support in the form of tuition assistance, books and/or fees, for students in The University of Akron’s College of Business.  Applicants for the Joseph C. Hete & Family Endowed Scholarship are expected to be employed on a part or full-time basis and have a demonstrated financial need.  Applicants must submit an essay that visions their future careers.  The Joseph C. Hete & Family Scholarship will be awarded by The University of Akron’s College of Business Administration, working in conjunction with the Office of Student Financial Aid. The scholarship is not renewable.
