Robert McMinn ('72) and his wife Janet established this scholarship in 2004 to assist students pursuing degrees in Accounting in The University of Akron's College of Business Administration. As a partner in the accounting firm of Ciulla, Smith & Dale, Mr. McMinn is a tremendous advocate for University of Akron accounting students, offering numerous students valuable practical experience through internships with the firm. In selecting scholarship recipients, first preference will be given to junior or senior accounting majors who are graduates of the following high schools: Nordonia High School in Macedonia, OH; Lorain County Joint Vocational School in Oberlin, OH; and students from North Ridgeville High School in North Ridgeville, OH. Should no applicants who meet this requirement apply, preference will then go to junior or senior accounting majors with no regard to their high school alma mater. Selection will be made by the chair of the George W. Daverio School of Accountancy, with input from Mr. and Mrs. McMinn during their lifetimes.
