


The purposes of the Finance Advisory Board Scholarship Program are to: (1) promote and encourage high potential students who show great promise for successful finance careers in business and government, (2) support the student recruitment efforts of the Department of Finance, and (3) maintain and improve the quality and reputation of Department of Finance programs by attracting excellent students. A total of seven (7) tuition scholarships will be awarded for spring semester. Each award recipient will receive a Certificate of Recognition and a $1,500 tuition scholarship.
Selection criteria include a minimum grade point average of 3.20, declared finance major, demonstrated leadership skills, extracurricular activities and work experience.
Recipients of this scholarship are selected during the fall semester.
Application forms are now available in the Department of Finance (CBA 201). Also, an electronic application form will be sent upon request. Submit request to svs10@uakron.edu.
The Department of Finance Scholarship Committee will, in consultation with the Department Head, recommend the award recipients to the Executive Committee of the Finance Advisory Board. The award recipients will be invited to meet with the Finance Advisory Board and will be honored at the Financial Management Association Honor Society luncheon held in the spring. Each award recipient will also receive ongoing career advice and counseling from faculty members in the Department of Finance.
The application deadline is September 30th.
