Students in Free Enterprise, also known as SIFE is an international non-profit organization located in 39 countries. Here at the University of Akron our team is one of 577 around the USA, with 26 active students, majors ranging from Pre-Med to Business.

If you have ever heard, “If you give a man a fish, he will eat for a day; if you teach a man to fish he will eat for a lifetime” Our SIFE team does projects on campus and around the community to better the lives of individuals by teaching them life skills. We want to better the world through positive empowerment of people, while creating leaders.

SIFE wants to spread campus wide in the 2012-2013 academic year because it is not only a business oriented organization. We do projects from environmental sustainability to investments and have a 26 minute presentation at our regional competition, which is a great way to better your presentation, communication, and public speaking skills. We want to spread the knowledge of leadership throughout campus and to the different colleges outside of the College of Business Administration.

Overview

We develop outreach projects that improve the quality of life and the standard of living for people in need.

We implement these projects during the school year and create an annual report to compete against the other USA teams for a chance to go to the World Cup.
