Dr. William (Bill) Baker has joined the CBA this summer as a professor of marketing and chair of the Department of Marketing.
He comes to the CBA from San Diego State University where he was a professor of marketing. He has also taught at The University of Vermont.
Prior to entering academia, Baker was vice president of marketing at Ericson Marketing Communications in Nashville, TN.
Baker earned a Ph.D. in Marketing in 1991 and an M.A. in Marketing in 1985 from the University of Florida. He also holds a B.A. degree in psychology, earned in 1977 from Northwestern University.
With a broad range of interests in the marketing discipline, Baker has a record of published research in the areas of advertising, consumer memory and decision-making, market-oriented learning and innovation, and has recently extended his research into the entrepreneurship and international domains.
Two of Baker’s publications in the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science are among the most cited papers on the topic of market-oriented learning.
