Dr. Steven Ash, associate chair of the Department of Management, presented during the Ohio Economic-Education Summit in Columbus on February 23rd.
The 2011 Ohio Economic-Education Summit aimed to forge partnerships and provide crucial information for continued alignment between educational initiatives and Ohio's economic development. Dr. Ash sat on the panel facilitated by Constance Barsky titled "Creating relevance for students and the workplace." The panel discussed the need for education to be a two-way street, and how secondary and postsecondary education look differently with a balance of creativity and the relevance and need for students and workers with problem-solving abilities.
Dr. Ash explained the link between Ohio public schools and higher education, and the importance of providing instruction in the areas of creativity and innovation, along with partnerships with local businesses on applied projects.
