The University of Akron’s Fisher Institute for Professional Selling hosted its opening industry night with an event for medical sales companies and UA students on March 24. The intent of the event was to engage students with the medical sales field by providing a first-hand look at what the profession entails, as well as the hiring process for such professions.
About forty students attended the event from 5:00-7:30 pm in the Taylor Institute Resource Room in the Polsky Building. They spent the evening listening to presentations from each company and networking with company representatives.
Although all companies in attendance were a part of the medical field, each was from a different market segment with companies from dental, cardiac, medical supplies, orthopedic and pharmaceutical backgrounds. Attending companies included Centurion Medical Products, EdgePark Medical Supplies, Edwards LifeSciences, Henry Schien, Millennium Laboratories, PartsSource, PRADCO and Stryker.
The Fisher Institute for Professional Selling will be hosting several other industry nights similar to the medical event in the future. For more information, please contact Dr. Linda Orr at firstname.lastname@example.org or visit Fisher’s website.Tweet
