Under the leadership of student president, Thomas Huth, UA’s chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) has been awarded the society’s 2010-2011 Superior Merit Award. This award recognizes student chapter achievements and a commitment to providing meaningful programs and services to members.
The UA chapter was chosen from among 138 entries. In congratulating the chapter on their award, Chuck Salvetti, Manager of SHRM’s Student and Young Professional Programs, said, “Your entire chapter should be very proud of this accomplishment…. By achieving this award, your chapter distinguishes itself as an outstanding organization dedicated to serving the needs of your members and to the advancement of the human resource management profession.”
Jessica Wallace, student president for 2011-12 hopes to maintain this level of performance for the organization in the coming year.
The chapter now qualifies to be considered for the 2010-2011 Outstanding Student Chapter Award which will be announced on May 31, 2011.
